BUILDING YOUR RESILIENCE MUSCLES - CHOOSING YOUR WAY TO ADAPT

Stress is not our downfall. Not being resilient, is!

Resilience is an active process. It can be learnt. It’s about finding the psychological strength to ‘bounce back’, to be able to continue with our lives in a healthy way. Emotions are a part of our being. They can elevate us, and they can distress us.

As the past year has been incredibly disruptive, looking at how emotions are managed is crucial to mental wellbeing. If we are unable to do this, we become emotionally drained and unable to manage ourselves and support others.

This session uncovers your triggers from a neuroscience perspective and being able to recognise their impact. It explores ways you can build your resilience muscle and rewire your thinking patterns in times of great volatility if needed.

PRESENTER

The WA Women in Tax Committee are pleased to be joined by Karen Livey who has spent the last 30 years immersed in leadership. She has worked with a range of leaders in a variety of industries including mining, oil and gas and service providers. She has been involved in several different types of voluntary work including mentoring of young leaders. Known as an expert in her field of leadership training, Karen is obsessed with leaders unlocking their potential and engaging better with their teams and other stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes. Her humour, energy and streets-smart style encourages her audiences to be involved, have fun and learn some new techniques and strategies. Some believe it’s like having all the right equipment in place and being able to reach out and find the right one to use at the right time.
