Everyone who has ever held a job has, at some point, felt the pressure of work-related stress. Any job can have stressful elements, even if you love what you do. In the short-term, you may experience pressure to meet a deadline or to fulfil a challenging obligation. But when work stress becomes chronic, it can be overwhelming — and harmful to both physical and emotional health. Hear practical examples and ideas on how you can best manage the challenges of the modern workplace. This session will include discussion on:

Stephen Heath, CTA, Wallmans Lawyers
Stephen Heath, CTA, is a Partner in the Taxation & Revenue section of Wallmans Lawyers, with his principal practice areas being superannuation and tax. He also works on general commercial matters with a focus on tax planning, business structuring and insurance. Steve is a recent past member of The Tax Institute’s State Council and National Council.

Helen Ingleton, (CAHRI), Supashock

Helen is a Certified HR Practitioner (CAHRI) with extensive experience across diverse range of industries including professional services, corporate, local government, aged care, mining, engineering and manufacturing. Previous employers have included City of Charles Sturt, Eldercare, Benson Radiology, Optus and BHP Billiton. Helen is consulting for Supashock, an international engineering company headquartered at Edinburgh Parks as the Human Resources Manager.

Helen has partnered with business leaders and employees in each of these organisations to provide strategic and operational leadership in the delivery of comprehensive advice on all aspects of human resource management, industrial/employee relations, consultancy and resourcing. She mentors junior HR Practitioners through AHRI, balances studies with outdoor fitness.

Malcolm Oakley, ATI, Australian Taxation Office
Malcolm Oakley, ATI, is a Client Engagement Officer in the Private Groups & High Wealth Individuals (PGH) business line of the Australian Taxation Office. He currently works within the PGH Innovations Tax Team undertaking R&D Tax Incentive reviews. Malcolm started at the ATO as a law & commerce (accounting) graduate in 2015. During his time at the ATO Malcolm has also recently worked in a client engagement role within PGH Streamlined Assurance as well as providing tax technical advice as a Law Interpretation Officer in the Tax Counsel Network business line. Malcolm is a current member of The Tax Institute’s Emerging Leaders’ Program.
