From Compliance to Advisory: Grow the advisory side of your business

In response to an identified member need, the Tax Institute has developed this highly interactive new program from practitioners wanting to discuss and develop non-technical skills needed to grow the advisory side of business.

This program is designed for practitioners wanting to:

· Generate additional revenue through advisory services.

· Add value to existing client relationships.

· Transition more compliance clients to advisory clients.

· Demonstrate the value of your advisory services to clients.

· Learn what other practitioners are doing in this area.

Webinar dates and topics:

· Wednesday 9 August 2017 | Building your advisory business and managing clients

· Wednesday 30 August 2017 | Consolidating your portfolio and knowing what you don’t know – where to get help

These events will be held face to face and online simultaneously. For those attending online, log-in details will be emailed to you before each session. The sessions can be accessed from either a computer, tablet or smartphone. If you cannot attend live, you will be sent a link that you can replay at a time that suits you.

If you would like to attend this session face to face in our Sydney office, please email rebeccasparks@taxinstitute.com.au and she will reserve you a seat.

Learning Outcomes

Throughout the series, our presenters will draw on their experience in practice and provide real-life examples to build the knowledge and skills of participants.

Participants will discuss:

· How to use compliance information to identify longer term tax issues and planning opportunities relevant to your clients’ goals.

· Creating opportunities to determine the advisory needs of clients.

· Using client discussions to draw out relevant information.

· How to value and charge for advisory services and demonstrate this value to clients.

· The importance of building client relationships so you are “front of mind”.

· How to have difficult but important conversations with clients and consolidate your client portfolio to your maximum advantage.

· Where to access resources to assist with complex client matters.

· Your obligations and responsibilities as a tax provider.
